Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until just combined.

  3. Shape mixture into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet lined with foil.

  4. In a small bowl, mix topping ingredients and spread over the loaf.

  5. Bake for 55 - 65 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  6. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
